2018 Was A Big Year For Hyco Lake Magazine

  • Our first year publishing Hyco Lake Magazine was profitable!
How many start-up’s can say that for their first year in business?
  • We nearly tripled our distribution!
We ran out of the Holiday issue after mailing close to 12,000 copies and distributing another 3,000.
  • We’ve grown this beloved “local magazine” into a true “Regional Publication.”
Previously only the folks around the lake were being served. Now we cover all of Caswell and Person counties in North Carolina as well as Halifax County and Danville in Virginia!
  • Tons more content!
Compare for yourself… Flip through the pages of the 2017 issues then read ours from 2018. We know you keep them, most readers do πŸ˜‰
  • We have a website!
HycoLakeMagazine.com is a super-set of the print edition with updates to stories and information about merchants, services, and events… All being updated regularly.
  • Lots of new locations!
This time last year there where 47 locations where you could Pick up a Copy. At last count we now have 130 places for NEW readers to get their copies!

2019 Will Be Even Bigger!

  • Distribution is expected to top out at about 22,000 copies per issue by the end of 2019.
The website will continue to expand with historic information as well as new stories that don’t make it into the print edition. And the number of locations to pick up a copy grows every week!
  • We are also working with the Person County Tourism Development Authority on some  special content, advertising opportunities, and expanded distribution!
That’s all I can say about that for now… More later as the plans firm up!
  • Print advertising prices will not change even with our explosive growth of distribution. However, and this is exciting, we now have a monthly payment option!

First issue of 2019

  • The deadline for 2019’s Volume 1 is February 1st, mailing to our readers on March 1st.
The spring issue will have tons of content with a focus on Antique, Consignment, Estate, and Thrift shops in our community. And of course the high school and college kid stories, a wooden boat will be highlighted, something from the Conservator Center, too many to list!

  • If you haven’t checked out our web page in a while, please do.
There is so much more than there was a year ago. And now we are ready to push, push, push.
  • If you have a story that you want to share, let us know because we’re always looking for content.
  • And now that we have content, we’ll be looking for many more advertisers to help fund this part of our business πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰
In other words… If you are interested in advertising on HycoLakeMagazine.com then now is the time!

Social Media

  • This year we spent a lot of time trying to figure out our readers and how they use social media. Up to this point we found Facebook to be the place for us to invest our time. As of December 28th, our page has more than 1,400 likes and even more followers!
  • Check us out at @HycoLakeMagazine, there you will see other ways that we promote our advertisers.

Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU for helping to make Hyco Lake Magazine so popular!
